A guide to golf grips

Golf grips are a surprisingly crucial part of the game. After all they are your only contact with the club and play a significant part in obtaining that elusive 'feel' the we all seek. Compared to other golf components, especially the rest of the club, grips are cheap. Too often they are overlooked by the club golfer when a little bit more time and research could find a grip that would better suit and hopefully improve their game.

A quick guide to help you with your choice of grip:

  1. Change your golf grip more often as they harden and lose their grip with age. Do not wait for that wet Sunday morning when the club flies out of your hands!
  2. Buy quality golf grips. They should repay the initial investment with their longevity and better performance.
  3. Do not forget to regrip your putter. It may seem obvious but too many players still have that original grip.
  4. Try the feel of the different hardness and contours of various grips before buying.
  5. Always clean and dry your golf clubs after playing. Prolong the clubs and the grips life
