A guide to checking Used Golf Clubs
Used sets of golf clubs
When buying a full set of used golf clubs, ensure they are all same
design and model with identical shafts with the normal graded differences
in length. Buying major brand names second hand is usually a safer
bet.
Clubheads
Ensure there is no excessive wear to the face. Check that the grooves
are still well-defined and that there is no obvious indentations to
the face. Steel heads have greater longevity. Avoid clubs with rust
or pits.
Shafts
Any indentations or worn areas (especially on graphite shafts) will
weaken the shaft. Ensure steel shafts are 100% straight. Avoid rusty
shafts.
Grips
It's not the end of the world if grips are cracked or split but bear
in mind the cost of re-gripping when buying used golf clubs.
